Part 1 : Poser 4 is the tool. The very beginning is the model. Using the P4 Female model ( a.k.a "Posette" ) is a bit reducing so I work now with a modified version called AprilShy from AprilsVanity. This model let me use the textures made for Victoria ( well known Hi-res model from DAZ3D). I added a few morphs for the breast, the nose and face. For the texture I wanted to use something a bit different, so I browsed again the free stuff part of that great site Renderosity and finally found Dimentia. For the hair, I tried a lot but the only master for them is Kozaburo . I pick some of his latest creation, the long hair. I changed a bit the color of the texture, in order to get something dark purple. Then I added life to my model by using something that changed my way to see Poser model : the Real eyes from CakeOne. I changed the material of the eyes to a clear blue that fit well the dark tan skin of the model. Now it's time for the pose. I usually start from existing pose I modify. In order to have good joint between members, the pose should always be adapted. I selected some of the Arantza poses from Schlabber as a start. After the needed pose was found, I changed a bit the hair by adding more length and width. Before the rendering, I added some celtic jewels from 5D-Art found at DNA. Well, it's time to render at 4000x4000 1200dpi and save this as a large bitmap file, ready for part 2.

Part 2 : Let's start Paint Shop Pro 5. I used it for correcting the Poser file because the model is not Hi-res so there are some troubles mapping the texture on the body. And I have to correct as well the interaction between the hair going through the body. Then I use the magical wand in order to select only the model and save it as an alpha channel. This way I will import that pic in Bryce without the grey background. In order to keep the alpha channel property I saved the file in TIF format.

Part 3 : My old pal Bryce 4 :-) This is where creativity is done. I almost never think about what I will do before opening Bryce. My first operation is to select a sky that will fit the color of the model. The basic "Ansel's evening" will be ok with a few modifications like adjusting the various parameters for the clouds. I found in my library some 3D studio model ( originally a building of Mosesley from Starwars ) for putting my model on top of it. The model ( or the TIF file ) is imported in Bryce and placed on top. It' takes time to adjust the position. Then I added rings of various diameter around. All those objects used the Brushed Gold material. I added some water and a Surface cloud plane before putting the lights. I put one for adding some highlights on the brushed gold objects. Then I added my new hemispherical array of 115 lights in order to soften the shadows. I changed the diffusion ( 80 ), ambiance ( 0 ) and specularity ( 76 ) parameters of the lights. Finally I disabled the sun light in the sky parameters.
